India currently generates about 70 million tons of muncipal solid waste with an average annual growth rate of 4%. Only 20% of this is recycled and the rest ends up in landfills and oceans, impacting people and marine life and destroying the environment. This necessitates a proper waste management system.
The sustainability of the environment and future generations is entirely dependent on human actions within the next 20 years.
Mailhem Environment Pvt. Ltd. is a waste management conglomerate offering customized solutions in solid waste treatment and management. As one of India’s leading solid waste management company, Mailhem specializes in turnkey projects, right from concept to completion of renewable energy generation plants.
Mailhem is India’s premiere solid waste management company with over 25 years of experience whose aspires to create a sustainable tomorrow with greener energy by using advanced technologies in handling wastes responsibly.
Plastic waste to energy is an approach that involves converting plastic waste into usable energy forms, aiming to address environmental challenges and harness the energy potential of plastics. Pyrolysis is a method used in this process, where plastic waste is heated in the absence of oxygen, breaking it down into gases, oils, and char. The resulting byproducts can be further processed to produce fuels like naptha and diesel oil.
In the pyrolysis process, plastic waste is subjected to high temperatures, causing it to decompose. This decomposition results in the formation of syngas, a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and other gases, which can be used as a fuel for electricity generation. This method provides a way to convert plastic waste into a valuable energy resource while reducing environmental impacts.
Pyrogreen Energy Private Limited is a company with over 14 years of experience, who uses a process name ‘pyrolysis’, which converts non-recyclable plastic waste to Fuel oil.
This state of art Technology has emerged after extensive R&D with respect to Environment friendly plastic pyrolysis process, emission controls, ash recovery, quality of oil, safety measurements, and healthy working atmosphere, along with taking all precautions related to emissions and safety. This Technology will dispose / clean the non-recyclable plastics such as MLPs, all composite plastics, packaging materials, adhesive tapes, plastic carpets etc which otherwise goes to Landfill or being burnt unscientifically.
Plastic waste to diesel is achieved by pyrolysis. High temperatures without oxygen break down plastic waste into gases, oils, and char. The resulting pyrolysis oil can be refined into diesel fuel. This plastic-derived diesel is suitable for all industrial uses and other diesel-powered applications.
Pyrolysis converts plastic waste into naptha, a flammable liquid hydrocarbon. Heating plastic waste without oxygen breaks it down into gases, oils, and char. Refining the pyrolysis oil yields naptha, used in industries for petrochemicals, solvents, and fuels.
Plastic waste to electricity uses incineration and gasification. Incineration burns plastic waste for heat and electricity. Gasification converts plastic waste to syngas for electricity. These methods effectively reduce waste volume while generating valuable energy resources.
Nashik Waste Management Private Ltd. (NWMPL) was awarded the contract for Development of Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) for 500 tonnes per day by the Nashik Municipal Corporate in 2016. The project is successfully in operation since January 2017. NWMPL has successfully completed the biomining of two landfills with approximately 1,90,000 tonnes in 2018. The Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility at Nashik processes 500 tonnes per day of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) on DBFOT basis and includes facilities like Composting, Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), Sanitary Landfill, Biomining, Capping and Leachate Treatment.
